Bodies of Australian surfers found in Sinaloa

A bit odd, they mentioned a toll booth and then say the highway to Navalota which is not toll. We already know they were traveling after dark, maybe they went off looking for a place to crash. If so the obvious place would have been next to a toll booth. On the other hand if they were pulled over on a toll highway that is scarier. I have never driven them at night so I dont know how much traffic is on them.
