We go to Shiprock and overnight in the parking lot behind Wendy's. There will be drunk Indians trying to panhandle when you first get there, but a couple of no's and they will stop bothering you. Never felt afraid or threatened there. We like the small Chinese restaurant that is across the street and a little north of Wendy's.
