Heading to Kooskia Idaho from Boise Idaho

We are getting ready to go dry camping for a nice long trip. I don't really want to pull the added wait of water up the White Bird pass. Does anyone have any suggestions on filling up our tank somewhere around this area? We will travel through Grangeville so hoping there is somewhere to get some water.

Thanks,
Ben
  • My real concern about the added weight is going up white bird pass. It's a steep climb.....
  • I used to try to fill up along the way somewhere, but it's such a dead use of time. At least while I'm home packing I can do other things while I fill up.

I guess it depends on the weight of your rig and the size of your tank, but my 120 gallon tank is a small percentage of my overall weight.

    I just fill and go.
  • Any town, most gas stations, most rv dump sites, a random business, rest area, etc. Bring a water hose w you. Have stopped so many places to fill up w water and never really considered something worth committing specific locations to memory.

But on another note weight savings by traveling without water is an activity with very little return. I’d go on a limb and say indiscernible in most situations/setups.
  • The Nom Nom (formerly Cenex) is the main truck stop next to US95 in Grangeville. Pretty sure they'd have water, but call (208) 983-7508 to confirm.
