We are not normally boondockers but we have done it and will do it again. We mostly stay in campgrounds/RVparks. In Mexico parks are cheap and if you plan to stay for awhile they have long term rates that are very cheap - we have seen $400 a month and less. We boondock mostly in Pemex stations if we do - in well lighted areas - preferably with security guard - this is during travel and not as a place to hang out. We have heard of people boondocking at firestations. We have seen people boondocking on the beach near San Carlos. We would not boondock in out of the way places with no people around. We know of people of have made friends with locals who own small places on or near the beach where they park in the people's yard - probably pay a small amount. We try to support the local economy by using local business and we do want RV parks to stay in business so we use them. Most are reasonably priced. Experience gained with time is the only way to learn about most areas. There is a place at the north end of Melaque where people boondock near the beach but I do think they pay the property owner something - problem is people have been doing this for many years and dumping raw sewage in holes they dig in the ground - if you want to live in raw sewage buy very good health insurance.
