The fight in Mazatlan did not involve any RV'rs. It was outside the gates and was the police V bad guys. One of our forum members was right there and it scared the hell out of him. As for safety in numbers: About 15 years ago a couple from the USA in were headed south on 15 in Sonora. They were looking for a place to spend the night. Saw another MH on the side of the road. They pulled into the parking spot. In the morning the couple were killed and their MH was discovered in Hermosillo. But before all the naysayers jump in the murderers were from the USA and had robbed a bank in the USA. They were caught in San Carlos when they tried to use the dead couple's CC. I relate this story to show that boondocking is not always safe. I would never boondock on the beach along hwy. 200. Chupcabras are the least of your worries. We make sure we know where we will be by 4 pm along that road. Even the locals have warned us of the night time danger.
