I remember the incident David was talking about in I believe Las Jaibas (sp) that was all over the Mexico forums a few years ago. Our usual traveling partners from BC were in Celastino overnight on the way home in either 2010 or 2011 when the big shootout on MX 15 happened, they were leaving by the southern road and saw the aftermath in the southbound lanes. That said I no longer boondock in the US either, had two bad experiences, one in a forest service campground in CA in the middle of the night, and one in the middle of nowhere in central NV. One was solved by working the action of my Model 870 Remington and yelling you better get the Flock out of here, the other by merely having my Mod 28 Smith on my hip. And no I don't carry in Mexico, I may be a little crazy but I'm not nuts.
