Bridge in Dalhart TX

Went through there last month on my way to Amarillo with my rig with no problems.

We go under it every year with our 35' high profile 5er. Along with all the other RVs and trucks that follow that route. There is another underpass just to the west that I think is a little higher, but I have never bothered to go that way.

Ok. I guess I'll just go slow and duck to make myself feel better. My trailer is so flat on top the hill on the other side is what worries me.

I've been under it more times than I can count. Last time, just over a week ago on the way to Colorado. But I have kept my trailer height down. We are only 12' 9". My second AC is the lowest profile and made by Carrier, but no longer available.

Went under it Friday.

Been there done that in the MH. No problems. But the bridge is pretty chewed up by those who didn't make it.

Problem isn't the height but the approach and depart. If you feel uncomfortable and want to be safe, there are alternatives.

Just go west a bit to Denmock St and there is a bridge 6" taller without such an abrupt dip. Go west a bit more to Peters St and you actually cross over the tracks without a bridge.

Above based on google maps which has a habit of being out of date, but should be good as doubt much has changed. Was funny looking at the maps, kept seeing dots when I zoomed out too much.

Felony thread drift here but... when in Dalhart don't miss Hodies BBQ. Some of the best Texas BBQ we ever had. :B

We came through Dalhart 10 days ago with our 13.5' fifth wheel. DW was driving our car so she easily found another route with I believe a 13.9" clearance just a couple blocks west of the low one. City traffic manager should have a marked detour instead of a sign telling you to find another route.

Also, the detour sign said 13.6" clearance, but the overpass sign says 13.7". Which is it?

I see that other one just to the west. Google maps street view shows 14'1" on the sign but the sign looks really old. I might just go that way. I don't want to chance it. Thanks for the input.
