Magbrin, what sorts of activities do you enjoy? If you are hikers, the Canadian Rockies are jaw-dropping. (And they are great, even if you just want to drive around and look at the mountains.) This picture was taken at Peter Lougheed Provincial Park in early September a couple of years ago, not too far south of Banff -- an easy two day drive from Vancouver:
