Are there any security problems parking overnight at truck stops? In uk and particularly in Europe we wouldn't consider it. That said I understand that in Canada, and particularly BC, crime is low. But then we had our campervan broken into in a small village in France, so now we are quite careful about where we park leave it.
Friends of mine from Australia came here for three months last year travelling in a small motorhome. They avoided all campsites. They dumped at dump stations and filled their water tank. They stayed overnight at airport parking lots, church parking lots, truck stops, big box stores and at tourist info centres. They told me it would just be to expensive to pay for every night during the three months.
We went from coast to coast in Canada, took 65 days, we overnighted at 32 Walmarts, 4 Truck Stops, 5 rest stops and the balance at campsites.
