What others? How do we avoid/repel them and what do we do when they bite?
The only real issue would be biting bugs like black flies or mosquitoes. You can buy bug repellant everywhere to spray on you and your clothes. They probably won't be a big deal later in the season but depends on where you go. Don't stress about spiders. This isn't Australia. I've lived here for over 60 years and never been bitten by one. Ones that cause problems are very rare.
If you get to Courtenay/Comox area, just a few miles north is Kitty Coleman Park that has great campsites right at the edge of the ocean. A delightful spot.
