45 Kg 880 pesos. Price is based on the liquid capacity of the tank and not by weighing. Filling to vapor port = 80% so actual cost per what you get is 120% of the posted price. Use your calculator and see what your pots are going to cost you...
There are 2 Kg per gallon USA.
"Plantas de Gas" have been doing this for decades.

Please fill by weight of the scale. Can bring cold stares...
Thank you.
Looks like around $2.70 USD per gallon. - Talleyho69ModeratorAh, but still, it's a lot less expensive than in the US, and much easier to come by.
I don't condone anyone cheating, but prefer to think that the meters are honest, or at least as honest as a California gas pump! - moishehExplorerWhen we have small tanks filled I use the bulk truck that also fills our permanent tank in the MH and the stationary tank for the house. No scale you pay by the litre. And you better believe there is lots of cheating in that business. There are no inspection stickers on the truck meter. Why would the gasero be different than a Pemex?
Moisheh - qtla9111NomadWe filled up in the U.S. at U-Haul and in a few places across Canada. It was the same process, not any different than in Mexico. All four locations used the scale. Same thing here at home in Mexico. Never an issue.
We need to start dispelling myths about Mexico instead of creating them. - MEXICOWANDERERExplorer45 Kg 880 pesos. Price is based on the liquid capacity of the tank and not by weighing. Nothing is ever simple or straight forward down here.
You bring a 20# pot to the planta de gaz, and they likely will charge for 19 kg de gaz. Same for 50kg home cylinders. These are supposed to be 100 lb cylinders, Where's the 20% safety liquid vapor port? The tank does not get filled but you get charged for it. "We do not fill such small tanks using the bascula (scale). The price for your tank is posted right over there:.
880 pesos last full up.
If I understand your post:
You are charged for 19kg (42lbs) if you fill either a 20lb or a 50kg (110lb) cylinder?
The cost for 19kg on your recent fill was 880 pesos?
Do I understand correctly? - MEXICOWANDERERExplorerNothing is ever simple or straight forward down here.

Every time that We have bought Propane the price has been different! I just pay whatever it comes to!
Hmmmm....
You need to start buying it from me..... I have a special price for you.... :)
The OP was asking the price in Mexico! It is a given that the price is reasonable and the fact that I buy from a Truck that delivers to My Rig means that I Fill up and return to reading a Good Book !
It doesn't mean that I would pay too much ,just that the difference is pennies ,so why sweat it! - slowlyiturnExplorerLast march it cost 181.72 pesos for 14kg(30#) tank in Huatulco, or 15.53 Canadian. The same tank in san marcos texas cost 30.23 usd or 34.20 Canadian. the price increased every month by about 1.50 pesos per 14kg.
