By pass Atlanta
I will be traveling from Charlotte NC to Pensacola Fl. Next week. The primary route (I-85) goes thru Altanta Ga. Other than the beltway around Atlanta, is there any way to avoid the Atlanta traffic?

- Stay on 85 and do not stay in the right lane. There are several exits where both right lanes become exits.
- Avoid rush hour times and you should have no problem. Stay on I-85 right thru. No truckers that way except local delivery folks.
- The best way is straight thru on I85
- Not that I know of. I just try and stay in the center lane and stay on I-85.
- Since you need to stay on I-85, you really have no options. I would take I-285 westbound and reconnect with I-85 South of Atlanta. To avoid Atlanta traffic, avoid 6 to 10 AM and 3 to 7 PM.
