Cajon Pass I-15 fire closure

The Bluecut Fire

I-15 is closed between Ranchero (near Victorville) and I-210 (at south end of the Cajon Pass area) Hwy 138 is also closed. See Inciweb site or the Twitter Feed linked on it for the most up-to-date info.

Big, fast-moving fire. 10:30 AM today to 5 PM today, 6500 acres burned. I can see the smoke from home. Scary.
  • I-15 is still closed this morning. CalTrans advisory: "Oversize and over-length vehicles (buses, RVs, Semis) advised to NOT use SR18 or SR138 , or other mountain roads due to the amount of traffic utilizing these roads with the San Bernardino Mountains. "

30K acres burned in less than 24 hours (as of update this AM). Zero percent containment. Red Flag warning (hot, dry, windy) expected to last through tomorrow tonight.

Just drove from San Bernardino to Lake Arrowhead on Rt. 18-normally a 30 minute drive-took 1hr.,55min-to the Cliff Hanger restaurant about 1 hr., 30 minutes--and it was hot-about 100+ degrees. Lars

What were folks doing........trying to get to high desert via backside of Big Bear down into Lucerne Valley?

    When I-15 shuts down.....chaos ensues!

  • It's must be bad when you can see the smoke in San Diego County. The local news helicopter showed a shot of the smoke. I know they are up high, but still they were over north San Diego city when they showed it.
