Cajun Experience, Need your Recommendatios.

Will be leaving the RGV at the end of March to start heading back to WI. Will head up to Houston and get on 10 and head east. Will work our way across some of Louisiana. Would like to visit some Cajun communities along the way and sample the local cuisines and enjoy their culture. Not interested in large cities like Lafayette, Baton Rouge or New Orleans.
What are your favorite communities, places to eat and things to see? Also need your RV Park recommendations. Thanks.

  • We like it around Breaux Bridge. We have stayed at several CGs and keep going back to Poches Fish and Camp. Great food everywhere. Very friendly locals. Eat at Prejeans. Tour the old mansion in New Iberia. Tabasco Factory. Great butchers shops.
  • Years ago I worked in New Orleans and the city has a lot to offer for food and fun, but
on the weekends I would drive out to the country and it was like another world. The small
towns around the countryside offer great food and entertainment that cannot be beat.
After reading about Bettys campground if I wanted to see rural LA, that would be number one
    on my list.
  • Why not New Orleans? The French Quarter is steeped with Culture and great food. Walk around the Quarter and check out artwork and local musicians inJackson Square,
have some Coffee and Beignetsat Café Du monde.

We have reservations @ French Quarter RV in June. It is within walking distance of the Quarter. It is pricey but we're only staying one night. We aren't pulling a toad so this works out well for us.
Maybe some of the local Louisiana folks have info on other places. One thing about , it's hard to go wrong on the food there. Those folks know how to flavor food!
