California 168 - Westgard Pass

Flooding and road washouts on 168, which is the only paved way to White Mountain Road.

CA168 is a nice drive in a car, especially with a side trip to the White Mtns. But's too much of a roller coaster (mainly dry stream crossings) for big RVs. Without bridges or culverts, it's not surprising that this road would flood when rain is locally heavy.

Bishop airport reports 1.5 inches of rain in the last 2 days. Chance of thunderstorms is forcast for several days.

Any idea why? How sad to have the Bristlecones closed.
