In the spring we will be traveling the southern route from NJ to southern California. Anything we shouldn't miss in Ca. other than the obvious well known attractions? I would appreciate any info.
California highway 1, the Pacific Coast highway, is perhaps the most scenic highway in all of America. It has history with an old Russian fort, WWII gun enplacements, the giant Redwoods, Big Sur, Pt Reyes/Drakes Bay, Monterey area, Bodega Bay, Jenner, etc. You can't go wrong spending time on the coast. Check out Alcatraz when in San Franscisco.
