If you're taking your motorhome up or down the length of Highway 1, then getting through San Francisco will be the easiest part of the trip. You can just stay on Highway 1 and follow it all the way through town. It will merge with 280 for a very short distance and then you'll exit and go north. Or you can take Highway 35 north off Highway 1 and then turn onto the Great Highway through San Francisco. That keeps you along the coast. At the end of The Great Highway (near the Cliff House) the road will curve and turns into Geary Blvd. You can take that back to Highway 1 and then across the Golden Gate.
