Jerry you can get away with the 10 year permit if you do it on line. Use the VIN number of the truck. It worked for me the year I borrowed my sister in laws camper, even though the same truck had previously been in under a 180 day permit several times. I canclled it and the follwoing year registered the truck 180 day while i towed a trailer. If you feel a bit nevous take the jacks off and chuck them inside when you cross. Probably not a good idea to drive the truck around too much with the camper off.
Thanks for the info Tequila. Do you have a link for the 10 year permit? Also what happens if the camper is sold in Canada and has a 10 year permit?
