Do you have a GPS?
I found a great option on my GPS!
It alerts me while I am driving that there is a CG located within the designated miles from me that I specified.
A little tent icon pops up when I am driving near a CG. THEN if you click on it it gives all the info you need about the CG phone included.
Saves a ton of time of pulling over and searching for a CG. When half the time you don't even know what small towns you are near to even do a search.
Helped me several times when I was just done with driving, waited for the next alert of a CG nearby and just pull off to it. :C
You reminded me of a hilarious few weeks when I first inherited my wife's old car. (It was her turn to get a new one.) I started using one of those TOM TOMs that had belonged to my dad. I would be driving and a sound would go off. I thought it was a warning sound from the car. I kept looking for solutions on the internet. Then one day my son was in the car with me. He noticed that
the sound was actually coming from the Tom Tom and happened every time we passed a school whether we saw the school or not. It was alerting us to school speed zones. I guess Dad set it that way in cased he didn't see the schools. - CloudDriverExplorerX3 on Allstays Camp & RV phone app. We use it in combination with the Good Sam paper directory. In some cases Allstays has more info on a campground than the GS directory. Also nice that all the data is on the phone, so it works whether we have an internet connection or not.
- trailertravelerExplorerAs mentioned, there are a number of resources available. In my experience none of them list every campground and RV Park. Some are more complete than others and some are good/better for certain types of campgrounds.
Another option, which is the one I prefer, is to do your planning on a computer based mapping program. I prefer this because I do not need an internet connection to look something up or make a change enroute. There are numerous sources like the POI Factory and the Discovery Owners Forum for both free and for a fee data sets of campgrounds. My computer campground database has more locations than any single source I have found yet and I can even add my own entries.
Another option that was mentioned was using a GPS. Many of the campground data sets can be downloaded to many GPS units and then will display as icons along your route.
If you like Google Earth, you can import gpx files of campground locations and they are stored in your "My Places" folder and can be turned on or off when viewing Google Earth. - pianotunaNomad IIIHi,
Freecampsites.net has a travel planner that will list locations along your route. - RicJonesExplorerThe Good Sam app will give you near by campgrounds or you can search based on a location.

In addition to locating, you can click within the app to get more detail on the CG facilities and click again to go to that CG on various review sites (such as RV Park Reviews.com). - IAMICHABODExplorer IIHere you go RV Parky very handy to have when traveling. It also has a Trip Planner

You belong to GoodSam, they offer "trip routing" on their website. Powered by Rand McNally. It lists campgrounds along your route as an option. Give it a try.
