Waterfalls and lots of hiking trails...easy drive into Portland and east to Hood River. Nice little park. I think there are only about 40 hook up sites.We used it as a jumping off point for the Columbia River Gorge. Ainsworth will close for the season on 11/1/18.

Last time thru there Ainsworth was really tight. Sites are not the biggest.

Ainsworth is very nice State Park Unfortunately the Gorge fires have closed a lot of trails and roads around the park. There is still a bunch to do see the locks and some waterfall trails are available But check in advance because they are still closing certain sections off so they can repair the fire damage.

Just to make sure here is the information out of the Oregon State Parks Guide 2017 - 2018 it has a lot of great information on the Parks.It is a sad thing that many of the nearby hiking trails are still closed due to a stupid act throwing fireworks into a ravine.Ainsworth State ParkOn E Historic Columbia River Hwy. 18 mi. E of Troutdale (exit #35 off I-84)503-695-226140+ full-hookup, 6 walk-in tent. Max. site 60,' some pull-through.Campground in forest setting. Connections to many Gorge trails, including U.S. Forest Service Trail #400. Day-use area and picnicking located ¼ mi. W of campground. Open seasonally (mid-March to end of Oct.). Reservable as of January 15, 2015.
