Both 1/2 hours drive to downtown Montreal (ouside a.m & p.m. rush hours)

X3 on the KOA. When you go downtown, for example, to the Notre Dame Basilica, you can find parking on the streets. There are no parking meters, but the parking spot is marked with a letter/number. Park in the vacant space, then locate the Parking Vending machine located somewhere within a half a block of your space. Punch in your parking space letter/number, pay your fee, + voila, you can tour the surrounding sites. If you are running out of Parking Meter time, just go to the nearest parking meter (you don't have to go to your original parking meter machine) , punch in your parking space letter/number, pay the fee, and you are good to go. Some nice person took pity on us + was nice enough to guide us to the Parking Vending machine. The interior of the Basilica + the guided tour were spectacular. Every other tour throughout the day is spoken in English. If you want to hear the church bells in full sound, be there at 12-noon. Enjoy!

yes it does exist, you can be half hour away from downtown I would say the closest is the KOA Montreal South

Having lived there for more than 3 years, but almost 40 years ago, I say 1/2 hour to downtown doesn't exist.

Make sure to do your caleche tours and include Mont Royal. Dine out on Sunday at noon. & take in the delicatessens and take out their offerings.
