Just spent the weekend at Concha. We usually stay at Sandy beach near Wrecked, but as we know.. that's gone.
First the GOOD... The staff and attendants are nice and always there. Restrooms are clean enough and the showers have hot water and are kept clean. Theres a little Tienda as well.
The place is strictly a dry camp with lots of room in a big dirt lot. Many spaces are beach front with easy access to the water.
There weren't many overnite campers and most of the activity appeared to be locals during the day. It was Dia de Madre weekend so Saturday was busy, but most all had left by nightfall.
Now the BAD.. Friday night noise from the local bars and clubs (musica as loud as it can be)and then an after hours party in a nearby parking lot with vehicle speakers that rivaled the bars for amplification. I would have sworn they had to be inches from the tent! This kept up till 8 am.
AND THEN Saturday night we were robbed of a couple items WHILE WE SLEPT. We were in a tent and whomever robbed us had to have been one heck of a catburgler with huevo's of steel to sneak in the partially open door and grab the only two items that were not locked up in in our vehicle. A Kindle and a wristwatch. How the heck is it that we were even a target? those items weren't flashed around. The only gringo's on the beach have to have something valuable ? It was an extremely noisy from wind that night and that could conceal the entry .. but man, like I said.. what huevos.
I shudder about the confrontation that could have happened had I awakened and .....
So will we camp there again.? maybe, with more attention to security. and One eye open..
