- JimFromJerseyExplorerGBopp - Yes, thanks- after zooming in on GoggleEarth, I saw that's the way to do it.
CamperFamily - we're headed to Vershire, Vermont ultimately. I wanted to use 287 and the Zee because I want to take a leisurely run up Route 9 along the Hudson - Sleepy Hollow, Bear Mtn, Peekskill, etc etc. I'm scheduling two days to get there from Salem, so we should have plenty of time. I just filled up the beast at the local Pilot for $3.19/9 and a 5% discount off that with my Pentagon Federal Credit Union cash rewards card. - camperfamilyExplorerYou don't say where your headed after passing the Tap, but if your going far enough north take 287 North to 87 North (NY State Thruway) up to Newburgh. Jump onto 84 there. Avoids the Tap ($$$ toll) and some real congested areas. BTW - if you don't know they are building a brand new bridge to replace the current span of the Tap. 84 will take you up to the Mass Pike if you go far enough with only Hartford CT to pass through as somewhat of a congested area.
Fuel up in NJ - cheaper than both PA and NY.
Now, if your not going so far both, ignore all that. - gboppExplorerNortheast Extention, Exit 56, Lehigh Valley.
Take US 22 East to 309 south to I-78 East.
Pennsylvania Turnpike - justaboutretireExplorerTake the Allentown exit off the PA turnpike northeast extension for route 78.
