Canadians buying from the USA

Hello All,

Any Canadians out there with experience buying from Rocky Mountain RV in Logan, Utah or RVWholesalers in Ohio or even Lakeshore RV in Michigan? Good, bad, issues with servicing here in Alberta, issues with the delivery or shipping to the border, not the right trailer, etc.?
Thanks, I appreciate any info.

Not true ,you will however need to appear at a local canadain tire for a inspection,I believe they are mostly interested in the propane systems .
I wittnessed a inspection and it was routine and no drama,The inspector checked propane compartment and all the RIVA stickers that indicate complyance.

  • As far as warranty work, check with the manufacturer. It's very possible that the local dealer will tell you they won't fix anything under warranty but you just have to pay for it upfront and the manufacturer will refund you (We've had to do this a couple of times with our US Toyota Sienna (even though technically it's the warranty is suppose to be valid in Canada) and Subaru works the same way but each manufacturer is different).
  • Hi I imported a 5th wheel a couple of years ago talked to a couple of local dealers about doing warranty
work here in Canada and they laughed at me. The manaufacturer even sells here in Canada but not
where I live. Have since sold a purchased another unit from the US. For the amount of money saved I would do it again. Just check on what can be imported into Canada. Good luck Bob
