... Eric (Moderator) - tbredExplorer IIGeez, the guy is a retired Master Sergeant who has probably handled guns his entire adult life. I hardly think anyone's life was at risk. Nice to know no one here has made any stupid mistakes, that's all it appears to be.
- Gonzo42ExplorerYes a CCW can be issued, perhaps to someone that shouldn't have it. However, here in the county of Los Angeles, only the celebrities and the politically well-connected will get issued CCW by the sheriff, in defiance of the laws AND a court order.
- Old-BiscuitExplorer IIIJust goes to show that a CCW can be issued to most anybody.......:S
I have been around weapons my whole life, I am ex Navy, I am a permit holder and as a responsible gun owner you don't FORGET where you have a weapon.
Owning a gun requires responsibility......extreme responsibility.
One does NOT just haphazardly toss a loaded weapon in the center console and forget about it.
If this idiot goes to jail, gets fined, banned...GOOD!
And the State of KY should be seriously looking at revoking his CCW.
His willy-nilly handling of the weapon is proof that he is not responsible enough to have a weapon.
Brain fade.......not acceptable.
Ownership is a constitutional right but with it comes responsibility which was completely lacking by this individuals actions.
A true bone-head. - RollnhomeExplorerHe also drove through New York. I doubt his CCW is honoured there. What would have happened if he was pulled over in NY with a loaded concealed weapon???? It wouldn't have been good. The unreliable GPS is a bs diversion of responsibility. Don't they have road signs and border crossing warnings on the highways on the East Coast?

He's probably now a felon in their eyes, Never get in now. Can't even get in if you have a DUI from 40 years ago. - OzlanderExplorerThis is how stupid their gun law is; You can take three guns to Canada, you pay them $26cnd and get a 60 day permit. Which I've done. That's the end of it. When you go home, nobody checks to see if you have the guns with you.
Last time we went to Canada, the border lady says, "Do you have any firearms?"
Now knowing they have computers and not knowing what they had access to, I said "Yes." Remember, never lie.
She says, "where are they?"
I said, "Locked up in the gun safe at home."
She say' "How do you know that?"
I said, "Because that's where I left them."
I must have a sweet, honest face, because that was the end of it. - tbredExplorer IIHe had no intention of entering Canada, just followed his gps which was incorrect. I'd cut the guy some slack and call it what it appears to be, the perfect storm of HONEST mistakes.

- downtheroadExplorerBottom line...you pay for your mistakes.
Be it with a firearm or with a trailer hitch.
