Sorry, but that's not going to happen, regardless of how much proof and paperwork you bring with you.. You are going to have to go through a very very long and painful process dealing with the folks in Mexico City to get your old TIP cancelled. And more bad news is that you cannot get another one issued in your name until the old one gets cancelled. Been there, done that and it is a long and frustrating experience.
There have been several discussions on this topic in the past, and they contain links to sites with details on how you have to do it as well as numbers to call in Mexico City. Do a search and read all the bad news.
