Use the NJ Turnpike. Just pay the toll. It's not excessive and makes everything a lot easier.
Pay close attention to both your GPS and the overhead street signns as you choose your ramps.
Pay attention to what road the GPS is telling you to take as opposed to "turn left" type stuff and use the street signs to take that road.
Worst that can happen is you take the wrong ramp and add 40 minutes and an extra toll to your drive. Be patient and try not to get too angry if this happens.
But follow the street signs because a a road can have 6 lanes all going to different places.
Once on the back roads of Jersey City in the hood, just take your time. It's a pretty straightforward drive to Liberty Harbor. Large trucks and 18 wheelers can do it. You got this.
