Just received confirmation the Road is actually being reported as in better shape than in November!

So Tequilla , sounds as if You got conned on this one!

Have you no Ham radio operators down there that can relay current road conditions and information?

I've been hearing that there was only a brief closure of 200! It has been open for regular traffic since the 19 th!

I went to the bus station in Melaque on Tuesday and they told me at least a week before it would be open at that time. I took an RV caravan up Hwy 80 yesterday,and we crossed over to Hwy 70 on a secondary road (54 km long) north of Autlan which came out on Hwy 70 north of Mascota (los Volcanes). It worked out OK and took us 9 hours. We had some big rigs. Nice to know its passable alternative for future.

The Ameca river bridge was closed for a day just north of PV. 2 lanes on other bridge

Copied just now off of tomzap from a guy that lives on Hwy 200 50 or 60 km north of Melaque:

I'd say the road is open now...lotsa heavy semi and plenty of bus traffic passing by on my way to and from Melaque

We were told that the PV Buses were still running up and down 200 between Melaque and Puerto Vallarta as of Today!
I wonder if somebody got their information wrong!
There was that Detour through the arroyo near Tomatlan which supposedly got hit by the rain. Maybe it was more serious than First reported.
Can You confirm the road closure Tequila?
