Colter Bay to Yellowstone Grizzly RV

I'm pulling a 34' TT with a 2500 Yukon XL. We are staying at Colter Bay then heading to Yellowstone Grizzly RV Park. Was thinking of heading straight north up through Hwy 287, will that be to crowded, narrow or to busy to be pulling my TT. The other route which I realize is longer was to go south on Hwy 26, then go north on Hwy 20.

Your thoughts or ideas
  • The road from the south entrance to Madison is also multi-lane when passing Old Faithful. Heavier traffic but more lanes. An easy drive.
  • Yep, what the others have said, up through Yellowstone Park to West Yellowstone. That's the route I take hauling a 35 foot fifth wheel.
  • I came straight up 287 to West Yellowstone. Took me about 2.5 hours in the rain, no delays. Grizzly RV Park is very nice.
    Enjoy.
  • I will do that in reverse and the return and go out the east entrance.
