Columbus, Ohio to Ft. Wayne, Ind.

Best route from Columbus, Ohio to Fort Wayne, Indiana. 43 ft. Motorcoach towing so roads are important. Any overnite stops?:)

  • 33 North from Columbus (This is mostly 4 lane Rd.) North on I 75 at Wapakoneta to Beaverdam. Take 30 West to Ft. Wayne. The entire route is 4 lane except for a few miles on Rt. 33.

This is the shortest and best hwy. for the trip. Check you printed map and you will follow the directions clearly.

This is our home area. Know all the roads well. 3 mile of construction on I75 in Lima. Not nice. Drive in the center and block the other traffic for 2 minutes.
  • The most direct route is State Route 33, Columbus, OH., to Ft Wayne. Much of that route is single-lane highway.

As an alternative, take I-70 west from Columbus to I-75. North on I-75 to State Route 30. Hwy 30 (divided highway) west to Ft. Wayne.

Ft. Wayne has a municiple camp ground (Coliseum Blvd /Parnell Ave., near Johnny Appleseed Park) as well as several conveniently located Walmart Supercenters which allow overnight parking.
