Company in US which ships to Mexico

I want to say thank you All very much for advices/info .

Our problem, hard to believe ,was solved !

We have new tank , custom made out of fiber glass .

Cost 5000 pesos , with removing the old one and installation .

If someone would be in similar need , pm, and I gladly provide

I'm assuming that the tank is polyethelene. I would find the places probably a plumbing supply shop or almost any hardware store will have poly water tanks (tanaca) that sit on every roof top and find out who repairs them. Poly can normally be hot air welded with a filler rod, there is undoubtedly someone who repairs them. Fiberglass polyester resin and epoxy resins have a very hard time sticking to poly so repairing that way would be quite difficult although it could possibly be encapsulated in fiberglass to improve the structural integrity.

You haven't mentioned what your rig is. A make,model, and year would be useful.

If you don't mind used, there is a company that salvages RV's. I've had good luck with them but never needed to ask about a used black water tank. It is Colaw RV parts and salvage; you can find them on e-bay and the web. Their Website

I can tell most of the responders have never used a carrier like DHL, or FedEx to ship something like a black water tank to Mexico. The charge will be I assure you at least four hundred dollars. There is a huge penalty for oversize items.

ESTAFETA (google) is the carrier of choice INSIDE Mexico. Go to your local office of ADUANA (SHCP SAT HACIENDA) explain your problem. This will allow, with that same letter sent to the importer the tank to pass into Mexico duty-free.

GOOGLE RV suppliers in EL PASO TEXAS, then telephone them to make shipping arrangements.

You could also contact the company who made your RV. Most are fairly responsive. there are a lot of different sizes out there, you want to make sure you get the right one.

There Are lots of custom fiberglass shops in Mexico. Look for a supply house that sells plastics and resins. They will know the name of a few shops. Sometimes boat repair shops can help as well.

I would suspect that you could have one built. I know there are custom builders there, a Mexican friend had a Ford Transit fan turned into an excellent Class B down there. The work was done by a company that makes and modifies limos and luxury private buses.

You might also try some of the marinas, Puerto Vallarta is relatively close and has several large marine companies.

You might also call Tacho's RV park there--he may know if or be able to find something in PV.

I have a good friend who lives in PV and has been sailing and working there for decades. I just left him a message on his cell phone(Thank God for Skype) and I will call him back later today. He can be hard to get hold of sometimes. You would have thought he would have slowed down a little after his 70th birthday!

UPDATE

Just heard back from my Bill friend in PV. There is a large marine store in PV called Zaragosa Marine that may be able to steer you in the right direction though they don't do repairs. Another possibility is Opequimar (sp?) in PV

However Bill suggests that there should many more resources in Guadalajara than in Puerto Vallarta. You may be able to get the tank repaired using "plastic welding" though the fibreglass may interfere with that. There are many thousands of plastic water storage tanks around, someone must repair them.

Some other couriers hand off to other local (Mexican) companies for final delivery. We have had very bad luck with Estufeta in Mexico.

I think though that for something the size of a tank, it would be very expensive. You can always call for a quote.

My fault I did not stated it clear .
I am not looking at this moment for shipping company, DHL, Fedex and so one .
I am looking for company which is having tanks for sale , and would cooperate with customer/order from Mexico .

Google is returning very few results , and these companies , which have websites and have some kind of tanks, do not respond to my emails,
their phone numbers do not work, or nobody is answering, and so on forever .

Please tell me what kind of place I should look for, and contact,
to explore possibilities of building tank in Mexico ? We are in Guadalajara at the moment , if exist should be over here , which direction to go to start the search ?
For long time on the road we tried to fix the crack with fiberglass , but did not work , we were asking people in fiberglass shops about building the new tank, but they knew nothing about it .

I got car parts shipped to Valles by Fedex last winter and got them within a week. I think having a known entity to ship to (the local Chevy dealer) helped. I have heard that DHL has generally abandoned the US market.
