Yes you can drive to Prudhoe Bay, but that is as far as you can go in private vehicles and you are still miles from the bay. You cannot drive a private vehicle in the oilfield leases you have to take a paid tour. I drove the "Haul Road" for years for a living and I would "NEVER" take my personal vehicle to Prudhoe, it's mostly dirt, lots of rocks, mud, and the weather can change in a blink of the eye. If you choose to ignore this advice take a minimum of two spares, tools and the knowledge how to use them. There is fuel available and tire repair service in Prudhoe, but they don't stock tires for private vehicles. If you really want to see it, FLY you see a lot more no road damage, ex: tires, Windows, break downs hundreds of miles from no where. You can do a day trip or spend the night in rooms by the airport.
