Construction on I35 around Ft. Worth and Waco?

It is getting time to head south. We normally take I35/I35W to San Antonio. However construction delays last year were horrible so we jumped over to US281. But that takes us out of our way for wher...

I personally would go 100 miles out of the way to avoid I-35!! Definitely want to avoid the areas you mentioned. The only good thing about I-35 is Czech Stop in West!!

I would go around FW on 820, catch Chisholm Trail Pkwy to Cleburne, 67 to Hico (via 220) and catch 281 down to SA. Might take a few minutes longer, but your blood pressure will be much lower going that way. And you never know when something major happens on 35 to shut it down.
