Corsicana area to Highway 287 through Fort Worth?

Leaving for Colorado on a Friday morning in early August. Was planning on going NE a bit to Greenville then up to Highway 82 and then west to pick up 287. All to avoid DFW. This will add some time...

It has been a long time since I have been on 287 south of DFW, but I would do that, or I-45 to I-20 west to Ft Worth, before I would detour all the way around the east side thru small towns, smaller highways, and lower speed limits. I think you would be past Wichita Falls heading west before you ever reached 287 from 82. Just avoid rush hours.

I-35W construction thru Ft Worth is supposedly 97% complete now.
