Cracker Barrel overnight camping

We are on one of our "dream trips", from MN to Florida, first to St. Joseph Peninsula SP, then to Fort Wilderness @ Disney World. Having a blast just on the drive so far. Beautiful rest areas in Illinois.

We stayed overnight at the Janesville, WI, Walmart and Sam's Club (thanks to the manager we spoke with by phone who pointed out where to park to avoid the local Police's ordinance against camping there). Planning tonight's late stop, hopefully in Athens, AL. We see a Cracker Barrel there that we may try. Any input on Cracker Barrel overnight camping or that location in particular? We also see a Walmart nearby as another option.

Also looking for a unique fast food dining experience around Paducah, KY, for a family of Yankees from MN.

We ended up staying at a Cracker Barrel south of Nashville. I was getting too tired and we started seeing fog and deer after 1 am, not a good combination. The Cracker Barrel worked out very well. Quiet parking spot in the rear located a couple blocks off the interstate away from the traffic noise.

These parking lot stops, for the "wise guy" reply;), are just 6-7 hour breaks for some sleep and they are FREE! Great way to save money and get some rest while driving hard to our destination. The "dream" portion of the trip will be for this family of 6 from Minnesota to camp at St. Joe SP right off the ocean beach, watching the sunrises and sunsets, gathering shells and hopefully seeing some dolphins, before heading to Walt Disney World to camp at the Fort Wilderness resort. 5 years of planning, 2 years of saving, and a lot of vacation from my stressful yet rewarding Law Enforcement job. Yep, a dream trip for us!

AWESOME. I have eleven more years at the fire dept. and we're already talking about where we're going to go. Who knows what RVing will be like in eleven years. No matter what, I still will prefer to do the driving, not have the truck do it for me.

As for Cracker Barrels, I would guess its a toss up. The last three times we've gone to a Cracker Barrel, twice all the RV parking spots were taken up by cars. The one time they were available, the parking was way in the back and it was 2:00 in the afternoon. So we don't even consider Cracker Barrels as an RV accessible place to stop anymore.
