Crescent City, CA to Reno, NV using 101, Rte 20 to I80

We were planning on using CA 299 to start back east to KS, but found out there were lengthy construction delays on 299. We thought using 101 to Route 20, thru Yuba City to I80 might be a viably alternative. Any input on that approach?

    Good way to go and if you travel on a Sat, Sunday, or holiday, you'll skip roadwork delays.

    Without a doubt, you'll appreciate Hwy 20 over 299, unless you're driving a Porsche twin turbo, then you'd prefer 299...:W..Dennis
