Got these directions from a friend.
Apparently some motorhomes, TTs and truck campers have been parking in the parallel parking spots at the curbs in this town. Some are even taking up two to three spaces and the locals are calling the police because parking is scarce. Parking tickets are the result.
My friend says if you want to explore the historic downtown there's a great parking lot with a lot of turn around room just a block from the old courthouse on North Park Street. It's free parking except during their festivals.
Do not try to get to North Park from the direction of the courthouse in front of the Fudge Factory. It's a very narrow street with angle parking and most RVs won't fit on that section.
Instead proceed on East Main Street to the first stop light (19/60 North) and turn left. Then proceed left on the first street on the left which is Hawkins (it's a one way street).
At the second stop sign on Hawkins Street turn right onto North Park and go up the hill. The parking lot is just past the Community House on the left. You'll see the chain link fencing.
