Disney Fort Wilderness Route

We ALWAYS have to go in the MAIN ENTRANCE... Everyone, including DW has to take the picture of the BIG Mickey and Minney at the Main Gate ! EVERY SINGLE TRIP ! :S

Once that is over with, we use 535 and the back entrance into the Fort via the backstage areas.. Cuts down on traffic and time

A cut and paste : "we took the 417 route to I 4 after coming west on 528. It put us 1 exit north of EPCOT DRIVE exit if memory serves me. Way safer than doing construction zones on I 4 Tolls on 528 not that bad and they also take E Z Pass as well as SUN Pass"
I took the 1 4 route 2 years ago and the constrution was killer, in time and effort to not crash. I plan on trying the above route.

A GPS might take you off at 535 and then over across Winter Garden Vineland and then Vista Blvd. This is doable, but does put you in some backstage areas that can feel a bit funky.

A Second option is to come across Hotel Plaza and come in near Disney Springs (which can get busy with traffic). From there, there are a number of different ways to the Fort.

For us, if coming from the East, I prefer to simply come up World Dr. Get off of I-4 at Osceola Pkwy and then head north up World Dr. It is a bit further on mileage, but avoids a lot of lights and surface road traffic, and I prefer entering the fort from the west on Vista, as it is just an easier turn in with the trailer.
