I had someone get my CC number and use it to buy a $1400 laptop on Newegg. I called Newegg and appraised them of the situation. They said to call my bank and dispute the charge immediately. Bank froze the payment and eventually canceled it completely. I never paid a penny.
I only use CC when purchasing away from home or online.
