I would take 294 rather tan the Skyway. The earlier you go through the better. Traffic gets pretty heavy at places, but just plan which lane you want to be in and stay there as long as possible. I usually hang in the just right of center lane with the semis. For traffic and accidents, there is an app called INRIX for you phone with real time updates.
