DRIVE TO CRIPPLE CREEK COLORADO

Hello: thinking of going to cripple creek this summer. we've been to colorado springs so I'm wondering about the drive from there to cripple creek.is for a 30ft 5er with a 2500hd duramax/allison.
thanks...
  • Highways 24 to 67, no problem. If you go over the mountain & thru the woods, that maybe a problem.
  • The best way for you towing would be hwy 24 to Florissant, then turn south to Cripple Creek. It is not as winding as hwy 67 from Divide to Cripple Creek. The traffic is usually lighter also. Scenery is good, as is most of Colorado.
  • Been there many times. 24 to Florrsaint. Avoid the gold camp road. I've thought about also going up there, except for about the last 10 years we've been going to South Fork. Go and have fun.
  • Teller 1 has much less traffic going south out of Florissant though 67 out of Divide is a little bit better of a road. If you choose using 67 I would recommend using the turnouts if you have other vehicles behind you. There some folks who fly up and down 67 way too fast.
  • Thats my ols camping area! Take some time to go to the fossil park at Florrisant. Caig
