Driving PCH (Highway 1) from Valencia to San Francisco

Would like to know if anyone has driven north up Highway 1 from Valencia to San Francisco with a 29' travel trailer. Any suggestions on places to see and stay would be greatly appreciated. We are doing a road trip from Utah for our daughters graduation, this is what she wanted to do. I have heard the drive is just stunning.

    The drive is stunning. You do need to be really cautious...tight turns, narrow spots, hidden side roads...

    We came around a curve and a car pulled out right in front of us from a roadside diner parking lot. It was all I could do to miss them.
