Last year they added a RV parts store, and this year they built a brand new restroom/shower laundry facility. We used to live in Pleasanton and stay there two or three times a year when we visit. My step daughter lives in Alameda so it's an easy BART trip for my DW to visit her or vice versa.

Trailer Villa in Redwood City just off 101 has a newer transient rv section. Not fancy but safe with a big lawn area for your dog walking. Lots of folks stay here while using the medical services at Stanford University.

More power to you then Arch. I just spent too many years as a cop and I got to see what other people only read about in the paper, so I'll do my best to stay away from the neighborhoods like the ones I used to spend a majority of my time in. I can much better defend against crooks that have to come to me, than I can defend against them when I go spend the night in their neighborhood.

Just as you predicted:

I stay there and never had a problem.....I've also stayed in downtown New Orleans many times and guess what....never had a problem.

Of course you have to remember I spent 35 years living in Salinas, CA so everything is relative.

The RV Park at Candlestick is located right next to a neighborhood called Hunters Point. If you look at the Google Earth view you'll see the RV Park is only located a few hundred yards from a large housing project. Just do a google search on Hunters Point and crime and look at what pops up. I know, somebody is going to say they stay there all the time and never had a problem, but this RV park is located in one of the highest crime rate areas of the State. And they want $80 a night to stay there? Being a retired cop and having worked in the Bay Area, maybe I'm just being paranoid, but you couldn't pay me to stay there.

This is as close as you can get to the city.

We've stayed here probably 15 times over the years.

We've stayed at the other places that were mentioned and found this to be the easiest to get into town from.

However if there is a football game going on you need reservations.

You didn't open the link, we drove to get to a Bart station. "Millbrae Station or perhaps it was San Bruno Station. I believe it was Millbrae."
