Live near Alameda Fairgrounds in Pleasanton. We have out of town visitors stay there all the time and have set up our coach there to use as an overflow apartment for the holidays. Nice park with not a lot of extras, but shoppig and restaurants within walking distance. BART station in Pleasanton if you don't want to drive into the city. As a plus, Livermore, 20 minutes away, has developed into quite a wine tasting area. As nice as Napa but much more relaxed.
