San Francisco CA

We stayed at the KOA near Petaluma, they offer a shuttle into the city. At $67 a night it was a little pricey for our tastes but has lots of amenities to keep the kids occupied.

Check out the web site for the San Francisco RV Resort in Pacifica. There is a bus stop nearby or it is a fairly short drive to a BART station which gets you into downtown San Francisco. Cable cars go from there to Fisherman's Wharf. The resort is pricey, but everything in San Francisco is expensive.

there is nothing in the City, for RV parks.
SF RV Resort in Pacifica is the closest to the City.
it's just a parking lot on a cliff, overlooking the ocean.

Petaluma KOA is popular.
otherwise you have to look out farther away, like Napa, Pleasanton and San Rafael.

X2. Stayed there in August. Not a park as much as a parking lot, but close to SF and an excellent hot tub. Very close to BART. $100/night in August.

We stayed there in April of 2014 and got a weekly rate of $289 or $41 a day - great campground - we rode the ferry into the city many days

Many KOA's have weekly rates - but you have to call the campground and ask about it.

We stayed at the Petaluma KOA three years ago, I think for 3 or 4 nights. It's a very nice and well run park and we REALLY enjoyed the city tour they offer! It's close enough to SF that if you have the "want" to drive in you can but parking anywhere around SF is at a PREMIUM for sure!

We would definitely stay there again. John was our city tour guide and he was AWESOME!

Treasure Island in South SF -- nothing fancy, but right by the BART station (and Costco, too).

We stayed in Vallejo with our 40ft. 5th wheel in September. A challenge to get to and an armpit of a park, but handy to S.F. and reasonable. Took the ferry and sometimes the bus to SF, no way do you want to try to park in the city! $5 a day to park at the ferry/bus terminal. There is a bit of traffic noise, but tolerable.
