Driving to Disneyland from Riverside area?

Any suggestions? We are considering driving our RV to the Anaheim RV resort by Disneyland from the Riverside area. Any issues with this drive? If we decide to leave the RV, any suggestions on where to leave it for about a week? (We would prefer to dry park it at an RV park vs in a storage lot for security.) Thanks!
  • We still have not decided, but are leaning toward staying at the Anaheim RV resort. The kids are staying at the Camelot on Harbor. We are a bit concerned about getting back and forth from there. Even with the shuttle, we would need to walk back to the park to catch it to the RV...
  • I agree with everybody else- stay in the RV in Anaheim. Unfortunately I know the 91 way too well. There is a window of pretty good drive time from about 10 am to 2 pm. I would also suggest you arrive in Anaheim the day before you go to D-Land. Be there when the park opens. You can get a shuttle to D-Land from the RV park.
If you do decide to leave the RV in Riverside, the Rancho Jurupa County Park just across the Santa Ana River in Rubidoux has an RV park.
  • Don't try highway 91 from 5 am to about 10 am in the morning, yes rush hour lasts that long on weekdays. On weekends, travel picks up around 10 am and usually stays pretty busy all day long.

You can check google.com maps and then click on "Traffic" to see if the freeways are green (50 MPH +) or less, yellow or red below 25 MPH. You can also check "Time" and check say Friday at 10 am and see what it looks like on a average Friday.

    Fred.

I'd start the drive at 10:30 11:00 AM after the commuter traffic has diminished. The 91 carries a lot of commuter traffic earlier in the morning-starting very early.
  • you are only looking at about 40 miles. i would take the rv it is much easier than finding storage with electricity to keep your reefer going.
to me it is much nicer having my own bed and closet.
  • It sounds like you've decided not to stay at the Anaheim RV resort.
It will be a lot easier to find dry storage in the Riverside area then it would be in Anaheim area. Rent a car or take the train to get to Disneyland for your stay there and return to Riverside to pick up the RV.

I think overall you'd be better off staying at the RV resort for the Disney trip.

91 freeway west to Hwy 57 south to Ball Rd. west to Disneyland entrance

or 91 freeway west to Hwy 57 south to Ball Rd. west to S. Anaheim Bl. to W. Midway Dr. to Anaheim RV Resort entrance.
