- jhfxrtleeh1ExplorerBe aware of construction through Birmingham . I know, they're ALWAYS doing something on I65, but right now they're working on a big interchange bridge between I20/59 and Warrior. It can be a mess.
- Alabama_JimExplorerIf want to stay at Montgomery, visit Gunter Hill Corps of Engineers campground is great. Stay on the new side. If you want to stop at Birmingham visit Oak Mountain State Park.
- Alabama_JimExplorerI would get on I-10 and travel to Doathan, AL. Then Troy to Montgomery. At Prattville, AL (10 miles North of Montgomery on I-65) you can either take I-65 to Birmingham or take Hy 82 to Tuscaloosa. Downside to Birmingham is that there always seems to be long traffic delays. Downside to Tuscaloosa is Hwy 69 to Jasper (narrow winding road). If you go to Tuscaloosa take Hwy 43 to Fayette, better road than the Jasper route.
If you go to Birmingham (which I usually do and pray there are no traffic jams) continue I-65 toward Hunstville. About 10 miles North of Birmingham take the Daniel Payne exit. Make your way to Hwy 78, also know as the Future I-2 Corridor, to Jasper, Al. Contiue on Hwy 78 for about another 50 miles and watch for the Red Bay exit. You are getting very close to the Mississippi State Line at this point.
Hope this helps. - LamanExplorerI travel to Northwest Al. several times a year but a little more info would be helpful. Your in a MH I assume so how far do you drive in a day, do you want the fastest route or will you be taking your time, need full service parks or bare minimum, want to avoid big cities or not?

- GMandJMExplorerWe took the long way (up to Atlanta and over) last year. It wasn't bad, but you probably want a more direct route.
Are you going to watch your new RV being built? - Triker33ExplorerUse a GPS program. It can give you all you want.
Use Passport America or RV Reviews web sites for campgrounds
