We've traveled that route many times. In Waldo strictly watch your speed, while not a speed trap the Waldo cops do hand out a lot of tickets. Lawty a bit further along 301 is a real speed trap. It's so bad that the governor paid for billboards to be erected with warnings about the speed trap. And the state road dept put up signs with flashing lights. Fortunately the town only controls a short span of 301 but be extra careful there.
Otherwise 301 is a good 4 lane highway with moderate amounts of traffic.
