Durango Rv Parking

Sometime ago someone had posted an article on this forum about a hotel for rv parking and directions on how to find it.I had it book marked on my computer but it strangely disappeared. Or are there other alternatives for parking? We have a 38ft diesel pusher towing a car. Planning on a staying a week to tour the area. We are leaving the Chapala area on June 1st and heading to Saskatchewan for a grand daughters wedding in Aug so have time for some travels of Mexico.
Our first stop will be Guanajuato for a few days then through Aguascalientes, then on to Zacatecas where we hope to overnight at Pemex instead of unhooking the car as it will only be overnight as we have toured Zacatecas before. Then on to Durango, Chihuahua, then to Creel and the copper canyon and down to Batopilas. We did the train from El Fuerte to Creel and back before but not to the bottom of the canyon and yes I beleave it will be warm (hot) down there.
We have traveled much of Mexico but not this area before so will be new travels.
Any information or suggestions will be appreciated.

    It was me. There are 2 spots, Villas Aragon motel and Baleanario San Juan. The later may be a bit less secure if you are alone as it is up a bit of a remote road, but they do lock you in at night. For a single rig I would use a motel Aragon. I need to look up the coordinates but if you search for that name here you should find my original post. The swimming pool complex might have a night watchman this time of year as it will be open to the public. In Jan it was pretty quiet. I had a caravan in there and the police supplied us with an overnight police presence.

    Thank you Tequila for your response,thats the one I was looking for.We met you a couple of years ago when we were staying at Roca Azual and you were scouting out the place.

    The story is dated November 2014, the incident occurred in SLP - how is this relevant?

    Not to argue but it did say . . . the Fresnillo - Sombrerete in Zacatecas . . . they started in SLP going to Durango.

    It also said it happened at 3:17 in the morning. The standard caution in Mexico is don't drive at night. Always have a safe place to stay. We don't drive at night and certainly not at 3AM. I do believe there is a safe Pemex by Zacatecas and Pete probably knows which one it is.

    Thank you Brian, we do not drive at night whether it be Mexico,U.S. or Canada. I guess we will stay at Morelos Pemex, where we stayed some years ago and toured Zacatacas. I thought by now some other travelers may have found other places.

    The RV Buganville in Guanajuato is going to be your only choice. The Servicio Morelos outside Zacatecas has closed their RV section but we were allowed to park amongst the trucks. The Hotel Baruk is an option. The Hotel Medrano in Aguas Calientes may be a bit tight for 38 feet, but was a good stop for us. The Motel Villa Argones in Durango was our preferred choice. And, the Hotel Villa Mexicana in Creel still has hook-ups but could use a lawn mower.

    Dont use the laundry service at that park in Guanjuato. Highway robbery

    Years ago the Mexico Motel in Durango had large park like grounds with 10 or so campsites. It was right in town. Most of the land was sold so now it's a long and narrow property with just room for parking and the motel rooms. They would probably still permit RV parking, but to get in there would take skill and backing from a one way busy street.
    We stayed there this last March, traveling by motorcycle. Just about every other hotel in town was booked, we felt fortunate to have a place to sleep. The rate was $22.50, people in the next room partied until 3am.
    Like many Mexican cities Durango has grown exponentially since we started visiting Mexico in 1999.
