Durango to Mazatlan cuota

Can anyone who traveled this route last season provide a road report on how it was? I have some reports from a couple years ago saying it was pretty rough with lots of poor pavement but I have heard that most has now been repaired......any comments?
Also, how is the road from Eagle Pass thru Chihuahua and Torreon? I normally travel thru Nogales and stay on 15D all the way south to LaPenita but after 13 yrs of doing that it's getting a bit old. Looking for an alternate route.
Any actual experience would be helpful.

    We went through in March. There was a lot of repaving going on then, the biggest issue was waiting for the flaggers to let us pass. At the city of Durango side we waited (on a motorcycle) in the hot sun for about 45 minutes at one spot. Most of the work was done on the State of Durango part. The Sinaloa end appeared to have been paved better originally than the Durango end. Repaving was being done simultaneously at a dozen different locations. I would assume by now, the way the work was being done that the road is by now freshly repaved.
